Ongoing research projects:
"Community based system in HIV treatment" (CoBaSys) - project funded by the ACP Science and Technology Programme.
"State, pluralism and change in Africa" – Research Project of National Interest (PRIN) 2010/11 co-funded by the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research.
The objectives of the project are aimed at the historical and political analysis of the following issues in Southern Africa (and in particular Zambia, Mozambique, Malawi and Tanzania):
1. The relation of the rural contexts with the State and local governance systems in the framework of the rural development policies.
2. The role of traditional authorities in relation to the ongoing State transformations, the processes of rural development and of decentralized governance.
3. The policies aimed at improving food security through rural development and the creation of more secure forms of access to land for the rural communities.Aggiungere testo (vedi italiano).
